Mediawan
About
Mediawan is a French media conglomerate that started out back in 2015 and since then has grown into one of the leading European studios of premium audiovisual content. The studio brings together some of the best talent in audiovisual creation to offer a breadth of services that make it a standout in the industry. From drama to cinematography to animation, all the way through to digital publishing. They’re credited with over 50 production labels in France, Italy, Spain, The Netherlands, Finland and Senegal and are ready to expand their B2B relationships.
Challenge
Mediawan wanted a new visual identity to feature new colors and graphic elements without touching the existing logo. The challenge became clear pretty quickly. How can we make changes without weakening the iconic graphic element of the logo? What new colors, textures, templates, and elements work best for this brand refresh that envisions a timeless yet trendy and cool identity? The design had to be built to last, work across different verticals, and be something all their associates could use.
Result
We developed a sophisticated and stylish brand by carefully crafting the visual elements that surround the established logo. In the new visual identity, Mediawan’s brand primarily uses a black-and-white color scheme, symbolizing the brand’s timeless quality. Complementing these monochromatic tones are the accent colors Khaki and Light Beige, which make a strong and impactful secondary color combination. The iconography is inspired by the viewfinder of a director's camera, reflecting the art of cinema production and the brand's creative heritage while keeping a minimalist approach. For typography, we landed on SangBlue Kingdom by Swiss Typefaces as a refined Serif font. Its various weights and styles offer creative flexibility and enhance the typographical impact of diverse design projects.
